Every company has a story. At Got Memories our story is that we are the best at what we do, and we love to do it! Owner Philip Thomas hails from Cheltenham, England and has been working in this industry since he was seventeen. Wow! That was a long time ago! He worked the family business in England (AFX Ausio Visual) which is a transfer, editing, and production business with over 1,500 affiliates in the United Kingdom.

While in the United States Phil tried to get a transfer job done of old film into digital. The product he received was worse than poor! He discovered that the "company" used an already archaic projector along with a video camera trying to dupe customers into thinking they were providing professional quality work. Phil had enough after that one experience and started his own company in Arizona.

Since the beginning Got Memories has used only professional video transfer equipment that is specifically designed to transfer old 8mm film, Super 8mm film, 16mm film, and photographic prints and slide media into modern digital products such as CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray.

The machines at Got Memories are specifically designed to transfer the old into new digital formats. They are made to treat your precious originals gently. The guy who did the horrible transfer for Phil actually used a film projector to run the film! Why is that bad? Obsolete projection equipment uses lamps that can burn through old film in the blink-of-an-eye. Touching one of those old lamps can burn the flesh right off of a person! We use modern LED technology that is brighter with no heat. Another issue is that old projectors use sprockets to move the film along. Sprockets can rip and tear film when it is new, and has the potential to wreak havoc on old film. Though dependent on the specific media being transferred, we try to use the gentle guide system on our machines that avoids having to run old film through sprockets.
